KATHMANDU, Nov 16: Monitoring teams deployed from the Ministry of Health has on Wednesday sealed seven clinics in the Kathmandu valley.
The clinics, according to a press released by the Ministry, were sealed for operating illegally or operating without renewal. Previously, the monitoring team deployed to inspect clinics following directive from Health Minister had sealed 13 clinics.
The inspection team led by Dr Ramraj Panthi, deputy administrator at the Management Department, sealed six clinics in Kathmandu while 24-hours warrants were issued to two clinics. Panthi warned that the clinics will also be sealed if the required procedures were not fulfilled.

Clinics sealed by the ministry include Nepal Janaswasthya Clinic, Nagarjun Dental Clinic, Alka Dental Home, Osho Aashik Clinic, Om Prakriti Dental Clinic and Baipas Polyclinic.
Similarly, 24-hours warrants were issued to Nobel Dental Home in Balaju and Samrat Policlinic and Medical Center.
According to Dr Panthi, most of the inspected clinics were found operating illegally.
Another team headed by the Department's under-secretary Bhawanath Khatiwada had inspected 16 private clinics in Lalitpur. Of them, Rachana Ortho Neuro Rehabilitation Center was sealed. The inspection, according to the ministry, will be continued on Thursday as well.
