KATHMANDU, Oct 14: The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has halted its services starting today after some of its staffers tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.
The board issuing a notice on Tuesday said reports of some NTB staffers who went through the test came out positive for COVID-19 on Sunday and Monday. “NTB staff were in close contact with the infected officials because of which the office will not operate,” the statement read adding that the decision has been made to minimize the possibility of spread of the virus.
Trace and test
The board will only issue trekking permits for four days starting today and has announced to halt other services until further notice. According to NTB, “Meetings inside NTB’s building have been barred since the infection in the staffers was discovered.”
