SIMKOT, Feb 1: Services provided by the District Administration Office (DAO), Humla, have been suspended for a week after the Assistant Chief District Officer (CDO) tested positive for COVID-19.
The Office issued a notice on Monday and informed the public about the closure of the office for a week.
Assistant CDO Dasharath Rai tested positive for COVID-19. The Office reiterated that services were halted in a bid to contain the spread of the virus. Similarly, the people have been urged to stay aware and safe by avoiding crowds in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Disaster-induced death toll climbs to 239, 18 missing
The infected assistant CDO Rai is currently in self-isolation. Those who came in contact with Rai have been scheduled for PCR tests. The third wave of the coronavirus began in Humla on January 21 with the infection found among eight staff at the District Hospital and one employee at the Land Revenue Office.
All those infected earlier have recovered from the virus. Now, the number of people contracting the coronavirus has reached 10 in the third wave.
Meanwhile, the DAO has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the service closure for a week.
