5 killed, 1 critically injured in Nuwakot chopper crash

Five people were killed, one critically injured while the other one is still missing in an Altitude Air helicopter crash that occurred in Meghan rural municipality in Nuwakot district on Saturday morning. A total of seven people incuding Captain Nischal KC were on board the ill-fated helicopter. The other passengers include Hiromi Konafi, a Japanese national, Dilli Bahadur Gurung (Ramechhap), Hira Sherpa (Dolakha), Chowang Nurbu (Gorkha), and Sunil Tamang (Sindhupalchowk).

Begnas boat capsize death toll climbs to 2; 4 still missing

The death toll in the Begnas boat capsize has climbed to two as one more victim breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the hospital in Kaski District on Saturday afternoon.The deceased has been identified as Jamuna Kandel, 32 (Gaihre). Earlier,  51-year-old Krishna Kumari Kandel (Bajgain) had been reported as a deceased. Jamuna and Kandel, who were whisked to Mahoriya-based Lions Community Hospital, died in the course of treatamen. Police said they the search operation is underway.

President Bhandari calls for active contribution to national goal 

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called one and all to contribute actively from their sides to achieve the national goal of transforming the country towards the middle-income status by 2030. "To build an equitable society based on social justice, all tiers of governments are making proper coordination and cooperation. I heartily call on all sides to be active with collective responsibility to graduate Nepal from the least developed to the status of developing country by 2022", President Bhandari said.

Co-chair of Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal made efforts to lure Indian investors to invest in Nepal as he inaugurated the Indo-Nepal Center in New Delhi. Speaking to representatives, Dahal said Nepal had favorable environment of investment and the country guaranteed profit. 

Ex-Trump campaign adviser sentenced to 14 days in prison

George Papadopoulos, the Trump campaign adviser who triggered the Russia investigation, was sentenced to 14 days in prison Friday after he told a judge he was “deeply embarrassed and ashamed” for lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russian intermediaries. Papadopoulos, the first campaign aide sentenced in special counsel Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation, acknowledged that his actions hindered an investigation of national importance, a move that the judge in his case said resulted in the 31-year-old putting his own self-interest above that of his country.

Maradona to Make Debut as Head Coach in Mexican Soccer

Diego Armando Maradona, the new head coach or technical director of the Mexican soccer team Dorados de Sinaloa, on the level of promotion (Ascenso) of the Mexican League, will debut on September 15 when the Dorados of Sinaloa meets Tapachula Catefaleros.The match is included in the 9th day of the local tournament, in which Dorados is not playing too well, since it has three defeats, with three draws.
