KATHMANDU, Nov 7: Society of Economic Journalists-Nepal (Sejon) has expressed condolence over the sad demise of economic journalist Sanjaya Neupane.
Issuing a statement, Sejon said that Neupane's demise has caused irreparable loss to economic journalism in Nepal.
Neupane, the former editor of Karobar Business Daily, died on Saturday evening. He was 45.
Neupane was suffering from anaplastic astrocytoma brain tumor since one year, according to the statement.
He died in the course of treatment at the Lalitpur-based Nepal Cancer Hospital.
Neupane was the former vice president of Sejon. Neupane had been writing on issues related to economy and development for the past two decades. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
His last rites was performed at the Pashupati Aryaghat on Saturday night itself.
