SEE results by mid-July; Rs 98.8 million spent on examining answer sheets

KATHMANDU, July 6: The results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) conducted by the National Examination Board (NEB) in April will be published by mid-July. Although the examination of answer sheets was stopped for four days due to the local level election, the Board has expedited the work to publish the results.

KATHMANDU, July 6: The results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) conducted by the National Examination Board (NEB) in April will be published by mid-July. Although the examination of answer sheets was stopped for four days due to the local level election, the Board has expedited the work to publish the results.


The board has stated that more than Rs 98.8 million has been spent for the examination of answer sheets. According to Controller of Examinations, Arjun Rayamajhi, a teacher has to test 200 answer sheets. The remuneration for the answer sheet examination has been fixed at Rs 24 per answer sheet.

"The examination cost of answer sheets of 514,777 students in eight subjects is Rs 4,118,216,” said Controller Rayamajhi. "The total cost of the answer sheet checking has been calculated by the board at Rs 98,837,184." Mahashram Sharma, chairman of the board, said that the board is preparing to publish the results of class 10 by mid-July and class 12 by mid-August.  


"The marks of the answer sheets received at the center after being examined and scrutinized by various centers are being entered into the computer," Sharma said. Similarly, Controller of Examinations Rayamajhi said that this time the work of examining the answer sheets of 514,777 students across the country has been completed from 55 test centers.
