KATHMANDU, Oct 6: The government has endorsed security features to be included in the e-passport of the country.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers on Tuesday took a number of decisions including endorsement of security features for the e-passport, shared Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Gyanendra Bahadur Karki.
The biometric passport is equipped with an electronic microprocessor chip. According to Minister Karki, who is also spokesperson of the government, the government is preparing to implement e-passport in the near future.
Similarly, the meeting also decided to approve the Employment permit system operation and management (first amendment) guidelines-2078 BS.
