BIRATNAGAR, Dec 5: The local administration has further beefed up security in the Morang district in view of the House of Representatives and State Assembly elections this Thursday. 

Chief of the District Police Office, Superintendent Arun Kumar BC said that security has been consolidated at all the polling centers and booths in the district so that the voters can confidently go to the polls and vote. 

The personnel of all the four security bodies – Nepal Army, the Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and the National Investigation Department – have been mobilized for this purpose as per the decision of the District Security Committee. 

Police personnel along with trained dogs have been deployed at the border with India keeping in view the election security sensitivity. Special surveillance and checking on people and vehicles crossing the border to and from Nepal to India has been stepped up. 

Special checking has been increased at various places in the city and rural areas which are very sensitive from the security point of view, SP BC said. 

Likewise, the Armed Police Border Force has initiated a special campaign for the security of voters. It has been securing the polling centers and booths together with the Nepal Police. 
The Armed Police Border Force has been conducting joint patrolling with the Indian Border Security Force along the 63 kilometers border with India since a week back, said APF SP Bhesh Bahadur Shah. 

Around 6,000 security personnel, including 3,157 temporary police, have been mobilized for maintaining election security in Morang district. RSS
