SUNSARI, July 30: A second person injured in the Dewangunj violence in Sunsari has died while undergoing treatment, raising the death toll from the incident to two.
Jay Prakash Mehta, 21, of Dewangunj Rural Municipality-3, died at Neuro Cardiology Hospital in Biratnagar at 1:24 p.m. on Thursday, hospital authorities confirmed.

Mehta had sustained critical gunshot injuries during Sunday’s violence in Kaptanganj and was receiving treatment when doctors pronounced him dead.
His death brings the number of fatalities from the shooting incident to two.
