KATHMANDU, Aug 18: The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has approved stock broker licenses for five additional companies. The decision was made during a meeting of the Board of Directors held on August 17, delineating varying degrees of authorization for these brokers.


Among the newly licensed entities, three have been granted the right to conduct limited operations, while two have been provided with the authority to engage in full-fledged business activities. Among them, Himalayan Securities Limited situated in Sundhara and Sunny Securities Company Limited in Naxal have been given permission to engage in comprehensive brokerage operations.

In tandem, Easy Broker Limited, headquartered in Lalitpur, Rodso Securities Limited located in Sundhara, and Benny Securities Pvt Ltd based in Baneshwar have been granted licenses for restricted operational capacity.


Having issued a call for share broker license applications in Asoj 2079 BS, SEBON mandated a 30-day application window. Out of the 45 companies that submitted applications, a total of 43 companies have already secured pre-approval for licenses. As of now, this proactive approach has culminated in licenses being awarded to 37 of these aspiring market participants.
