DOLKHA, May 14:Police have opened fire in course of scuffle with UML cadres today at Sahare in Tamakhusi Municipality of Dolkha.


The scuffle between police and UML cadres broke out after cadres of CPN-UML attacked Police head constable involved in preventing one UML cadre from casting vote under the name of another person at the polling center set up at Jana Jagriti Secondary School, Sahare located in Tamakhusi Municipality-6.

One woman has sustained injuries in the firing incident.


The injured has been identified as Lila Khadka.


The police opened fire after UML cadres including Abhishek Subedi, Bikram Budhathoki and Dabal Rokka attacked police head constable who was deployed at the polling center for security purpose.


After the scuffle broke out, police fired warning shots into the air. The team of Nepal Army personnel has already reached the incident. According to them, Khadka sustained minor shrapnel wounds.


The voting at polling center located in the incident site has been postponed following the incident.
