ROLPA, Sept 22: Sunilsmriti Rural Municipality in Rolpa district has allowed resuming regular physical classes in schools from September 28 by following the odd-even rule. Considering the rapid spread of COVID-19, schools and colleges across the nation remain closed since early March this year. However, the rural municipality has taken the decision to allow schools to resume physical classes following the odd-even rule until Dashain.

Odd number classes will be conducted on odd dates of the Nepali calendar whereas the even number classes will be conducted on the even dates of the calendar. According to the rural municipality, following this rule will help in conducting the classes with a reduced number of students. This will ultimately lessen the fear of the spread of the virus.

Gunendra Gharti, chairperson of the rural municipality, said that the decision was taken by the executive committee meeting held on Sunday. The meeting also selected Devibhakta Basic School from Thumpaki, ward 1 for the construction of a lavatory under conditional grant.

Similarly, Suryodaya Secondary school from Ward 4, Balbodh Basic School from Ward 5 and Nepal National Secondary School of Ward 8 of the rural municipality have been selected for the construction of four-room buildings under the same grant.
