Local government to purchase equipment to test teachers’ alcohol consumption

HALESI, March 22: Halesi Tuwachung Municipality has decided to purchase equipment to test alcohol consumption. Due to the complaint that teachers of some schools operating in the city are regularly drunk and reach the class, it was decided to purchase seven breathalyzer devices for testing. The 98th executive meeting of the municipality took a decision to this effect.

HALESI, March 22: Halesi Tuwachung Municipality has decided to purchase equipment to test alcohol consumption. Due to the complaint that teachers of some schools operating in the city are regularly drunk and reach the class, it was decided to purchase seven breathalyzer devices for testing. The 98th executive meeting of the municipality took a decision to this effect.


Mayor Bimala Rai said that it was decided to use the six measuring devices in six police stations and one city hospital within the municipality. "There are complaints that some teachers as well as employees of health institutions and ward offices are drunk and irregular in the office. With the aim of addressing all these complaints, the tests will be conducted. It has been decided to purchase a breathalyzer.”

Preparations are also being made to use the device in the investigation of those involved in drunken brawls in public places.
