JEMC´s hotline telephone number is 6630140. The JEMC has called on people to call on the hotline if there is shortage of school textbooks in their area and it would arrange for sending the consignment of required textbooks within 24 hours.
Managing Director at JEMC, Ram Chandra Silwal said the Centre started the hotline service to address the problem of shortage of school textbooks and the textbooks not reaching the remote areas in time. There was news in the media about the acute shortage of school textbooks in different parts of the country last year.
He said there will not be any shortage of school textbooks in the country this year as the textbooks would be supplied to all places in the country within April 18, the deadline of school enrolment campaign.
Spokesman and Deputy Director at JEMC, Manohar Lamichhane said the Centre estimates that some 24,485,000 textbooks of Grade I to X would be required this year. The Centre has printed 16,345,047 textbooks while the shortfall of 1,684,415 will be met with last year´s stock.
The Centre has already supplied the textbooks it has printed so far to different parts of the country through its regional offices and is in the process of printing the required textbooks.
