KATHMANDU, March 28: The Supreme Court (SC) will hear the case of former Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising, who was dismissed, and the newly appointed Managing Director Hitendra Dev Shakya on Sunday.
Ghising filed a writ petition requesting an interim order for his reinstatement as NEA’s Managing Director. The court has also decided to seek the government’s response on the matter during the preliminary hearing.

Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman held the first hearing on the case on Friday in the SC's single bench. The bench scheduled the next hearing for Sunday, stating that the government’s response must be heard.
On Thursday, the SC registered the writ petitions of dismissed Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Executive Director Kulman Ghising and newly appointed Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya.
Ghising filed his writ petition late on Wednesday, claiming injustice but the Supreme Court registered it only on Thursday. Shortly after Ghising arrived at the Supreme Court, Hitendra Dev Shakya also reached. Shakya argued that the court had unfairly removed him from his position four years ago and denied him justice despite his efforts. He also demanded the benefits and facilities for the period he was removed from office.
