Singh's petition filed on 8 December, 2023, challenges the sale and purchase of shares by Ncell, alleging that the transactions were conducted in an opaque manner that could potentially harm national interests. The dispute involves Malaysia's Axiata Company, which sold its 80 percent stake in Ncell to Spectrlite UK for Rs 6.5 billion, significantly less than the Rs 144 billion it originally paid.
Earlier, Singh’s petition led to a short-term interim order from the Patan High Court, halting Ncell's share transactions. The case is now set for a full hearing at the apex court.
