KATHMANDU, Dec 15: The Supreme Court (SC) has refused to register a writ petition demanding an apex court order to the Election Commission (EC) to issue victory certificate to Resham Chaudhari, the main accused in the infamous Tikapur massacre, who has been elected to the House of Representatives from constituency- no. 1 of Kailali district.
Justice Anand Mohan Bhattarai to hear writ petition filed again...
SC's Chief Registrar Nahakul Subedi thumbed down the petition brought forth by Chaudhari's brother seeking the SC's order to issue election certificate to Chaudhari who has been absconding after the Tikapur incident two years ago.
Chaudhari who has been at large since the Tikapur incident tried to get the certificate through his power-of-attorney, stating that he is not personally able to come to EC to receive the certificate. But the election body has refused to issue the certificate to his power-of-attorney.
