KATHMANDU, April 9: The Supreme Court has directed Armed Police Force (APF) to stop the further process of promotion that it had made recently for the positions of Superintendent of Police (SP).
A single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhandari issued the order in response to a writ petition filed by DSP duo Lekhnath Khanal and Achyut Majgainya on Thursday, expressing dissatisfaction over the recent promotion.
They knocked the doors of the apex court after receiving the clarification from the Home Ministry over their exclusion from the promotion.
“The Supreme Court is convinced that there has been an injustice to the petitioners and has directed the APF to put all pending process of promotion on hold,” said Advocate Rudra Sharma, who is pleading on behalf of the petitioners.
