KATHMANDU, Sept 12: The SBI Foundation of the State Bank Group has offered a youth fellowship program to the citizens of Nepal aged 21 to 32 years. Calling for applications for the 12th edition of the 13-month long SBI Youth for India program, the foundation has committed to providing a well-structured opportunity for fresh graduates and young professionals to collaborate with rural communities and 13 non-governmental organizations across India. The deadline to apply for the fellowship is September 17.
Managing Director and CEO of SBI Foundation Sanjay Prakash expressed the foundation’s dedication to empowering youth to create meaningful change in rural communities. "The SBI Youth for India program provides a unique opportunity for urban youth to actively contribute to the development sector while addressing the challenges of rural life,” he said, “We welcome youth from Nepal to join the force and be the ambassadors of change for rural life.”

The fellowship works on 12 thematic areas including health, rural livelihood, food security, environmental protection and education. During the Fellowship program, the fellows can work on one of these 12 thematic areas as per their interest. Once selected, the candidates need to report to Tilonia, Kishangarh, Rajasthan on October 5, to begin the experiential journey.
The program has a track-record of enthusiastic engagement from numerous young fellows which has significantly impacted their future academic pursuits and furthered their careers in the social sector. Over the last 13 years, the program has produced over 580 fellows.
