KATHMANDU, Aug 13: ‘Ride Kastamanap to Khokana’ kicked off from Basantapur, this Saturday, aiming to bring the attention of concerned authorities for the reconstruction of monuments that were devastated during the 2015 earthquake. The fourth edition of the annual event, jointly organized by ‘Concept Nepal’ and ‘Khokana renovation and reestablishment committee’ saw a participation of around 200 cyclists.
Tours with acts of benevolence
A statement issued by the organizers claims that the cycle race has promoted tourism in Bungamati, and Khokana, consequently bringing a rise in the number of national, and international tourists in the region. Shyam Maharjan, the president of the committee said, “We are advocating for the reconstruction of our historical monuments. We are also planning to promote the possibilities of homestay at Khokana.”
Prominent cyclists Sonam Gurung, and Puskar Shah were also felicitated in the same event. ‘Ride Kastamandap to Khokana’ was promoted by Nepal Tourism Board.
