Saptari leaders seek compensation to those killed at Trisuli

RAJBIRAJ, Nov 8 : Leaders of Saptari district on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, saying the government failed to carry out effective treatment of the injured of Trishuli bus accident and compensation to the victims. 


Twenty-five people from Saptari district were killed and three are still missing when a bus (Na 6 Kha 1467) heading towards Kathmandu from Rajbiraj plunged into Trishuli river on October 28. 


Different organisations including Saptari Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sagarmatha Bus Entrepreneurs Association, Civil Society, Inter-Party Women Network and Federation of Nepali Journalists jointly submitted the memo to PM Deuba through Chief District Officer, Bhagirath Pandey. 


The memo asked the government to provide one million rupees each to the victim families and to keep the stone inscription having name and address of the victims at the incident site. RSS
