KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Samantha Power, administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), came to Kathmandu this morning. After coming down from Kathmandu, she reached Adarsha Secondary School in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.


She is said to play basketball and interact with school students. She was welcomed by the students of the school by performing a traditional Newari dance.

Samantha came to Nepal less than a week after Victoria Nuland, the US State Department's deputy minister for political affairs, returned from a visit to Nepal.


She is also a member of the National Security Council of the United States and is a high-ranking official of the United States Cabinet. During her stay in Nepal, she is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Foreign Minister Bimala Rai Paudyal, civil society leaders, community groups and businessmen.
