Sagarmatha’s new height might be 8,849 meters: Government sources

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The height of Mount Sagarmatha, world’s highest peak has not decreased from its current height of 8,848 meters. Instead, a source in the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has said that it has increased a little. According to sources at the ministry, the height might have increased by a meter from its current height 8,848 meters.

KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The height of Mount Sagarmatha, world’s highest peak has not decreased from its current height of 8,848 meters. Instead, a source in the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation has said that it has increased a little. According to sources at the ministry, the height might have increased by a meter from its current height 8,848 meters.


However, its formal announcement will be made today in the afternoon. Officials from the Department of Land Reform and Management do not want to speak about the topic formally. The source said, “the height might have increased by a meter.
