KATHMANDU, Jan 31: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) is organizing the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) International Conference in Kathmandu on Wednesday. The ICAN is hosting the four-day event, including the conference, coinciding with the accountancy sector's apex regulatory body's 21st anniversary, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. The conference is being held with a theme of 'Evolving Economic Environment: Challenges and Way Forward'. "The conference is bringing together directors, CEOs, chief financial officers, managers, professionals, consultants, members and students from various South Asian countries where 15 renowned international professionals and leaders of accountancy sectors will be speaking on various thematic issues. Over 100 participants from foreign countries and more than 300 from Nepal are going to participate in the conference, according to the ICAN. ICAN President Prakash Jung Thapa said that the conference would be instrumental in producing skilled human resources for strengthening financial governance and transparency in South Asian countries.
