BARA, Jan 7: The ninth edition of Simara Gold Cup is set to start from February 8. The organizers Navajana Jagriti Yuba Club announced the culmination dates in a press conference held at Simara on Saturday.
Ten teams along with two departmental teams will participate in the nine-day event informed club President Kasim Miyan.
Popular football clubs like CMG Sankata Club, Ruslan Three Star Club, Manang Marsyangdi Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club, along with departmental teams Armed Police Force (APF), Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC), and other city clubs like Sahara, Pokhara, Rupandehi XI, Jhapa XI, Hetauda XI, Birgunj United, and the hosts Navajana Jagriti Club Simara will fight for the final prize in the tournament.
A cash prize of Rs 551,000 will be awarded to the winner of the tournament. Similarly, Rs 251,000 will be handed to the runner up. Player-of-the-match will receive Rs 5,000 each and player-of-the-tournament is announced to get a motorbike.
The best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward, coach and high scorer will get Rs 15,000 each, said Navajana Jagriti’s Secretary Shambhu Singh Thakuri.
