Rupandehi XI into semis

NEPALGUNJ, March 13: Rupandehi XI has advanced to the semifinals of the ongoing second edition of Nepalgunj Gold Cup Football Tournament, registering a 2-1 victory over Manang Marsyangdi Club on Sunday.

Rupandehi XI will now take on Nepal Police Club in the last four clashes on Tuesday. In the match played at Nepalgunj stadium, Manang had taken the lead with a 75th minute goal from Sushil Lama.  

However, two late goals from Uttam Gurung and Amar Dangol sent Rupandehi XI into the semifinals. Uttam scored the equalizing goal for Rupandehi XI in the 87th   minute while Amar netted the decisive goal two minutes later. The winning side’s African recruit Musa was declared the man-of-the-match.
