KATHMANDU, August 5: A meeting of the ruling coalition is currently underway. The ruling coalition meeting follows the government’s announcement of the date for the House of Representatives and provincial assembly elections yesterday.
The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday decided to hold the elections to the House of Representatives and the provincial assemblies on November 20 in a single phase. In today's meeting of the ruling alliance, the issues including seat distribution among the parting of the ruling coalition will be discussed.
Prime Minister and president of Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba, chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) and former prime minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, chairman of CPN (Unified Socialist) and former prime minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal, Upendra Yadav and vice chairman of Rastriya Janamorcha Durga Poudel are present in the meeting.
