NUWAKOT, Nov 26: The CPN ( Maoist Centre) has clinched a victory in the election to the member of the House of Representatives (HoR) from the Nuwakot electoral constituency-1.
Hit Bahadur Tamang, a common candidate of the ruling alliance, obtained 26,548 votes to defeat his nearest competitor CPN-UML's Badri Mainali, who finished with 23,463 votes, according to Election Officer Tekraj Bhusal. The difference of votes between the two is 1,112.
A total of 63,379 votes were cast on November 20 and the counting completed this morning.
