The attack on journalist Lamsal happened on the eve of the World Press Freedom Day.[break]
Lamsal was assaulted by people who came on two motorcycles near Nepaltar at local Manamaiju VDC. He came under attack while he was returning home from office.
The assailants beat Lamsal, repeating the phrase- ´so, you write news.´ Lamsal has sustained face injuries due to the beating.
Lamsal said that the assailants had been following the office vehicle from Balaju By-pass itself and started beating him as soon as he got off the vehicle and the vehicle had left.
