CHITWAN, Nov 23: Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has more than doubled the margin of his lead in constituency number 2 of Chitwan district.

In the counting of votes underway at the hall of Chitwan Udhyog Sangh, Lamichhane has maintained a lead of 7,870 votes. When 30,313 votes were counted, Lamichhane got 14,811 votes.


Following him is UML's Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, who has secured 6,941 votes. Pokharel was previously elected twice from this constituency. Similarly, Umesh Shrestha of Nepali Congress who is also a state minister in the current cabinet, has received 6,608 votes.
