KATHMANDU, July 3: The report prepared by the general secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr Mukul Dhakal, has been presented to the central committee meeting of the party today.
Initially, Dhakal refused to present the report, claiming his freedom of expression was violated during the meeting. Consequently, Joint General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti delivered the 32-page document instead.

The report addressed the party’s decreasing support and its chances of gaining national party status in upcoming elections. RSP leader and parliamentarian Manish Jha noted that Dhakal wanted the report to be broadcast live on Wednesday.
Although party leaders like Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, Vice Chairman Dol Prasad Aryal, and Dr Swarnim Wagle initially supported the live broadcast, the consensus shifted against it. Jha explained, “Not a single person, except Dr Dhakal, supported the idea. We refrained from live streaming due to concerns about potential sensitivities and political implications.”
After withholding a 6-page political development proposal during the meeting, Dhakal decided to release it to the media afterward.
