KATHMANDU, June 4: Chief whip of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) Santosh Pariyar has demanded the government to amend the Citizenship Bill certified by President Ram Chandra Paudel.
Speaking during an emergency session of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Chief Whip Pariyar said that the Citizenship Amendment Bill was approved for other purposes than to grant citizenship to the stateless people.
Pariyar made it clear that the RSP was not in favor of the Citizenship Bill and that the party was strongly opposed to it. He said that the issue of citizenship is related to the country's security, human rights and geopolitics and it should not be certified without holding discussion in parliament.
