KATHMANDU, Nov 26: Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has made public his election expenses. Through the social network Facebook, Lamichhane mentioned that his election expenses totaled Rs 1.18 million.
However, he disclosed that the extra office materials bought for later use are not taken into account. He was elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Chitwan Constituency No 2 with a huge margin of votes.

Lamichhane has said that he will publicize his election expenses in detail on or before the official swearing-in ceremony. He has written on his Facebook, "On the day or before the official swearing-in ceremony, I will make public the full details of my election expenses and details of my assets."
The Election Commission (EC) had allowed candidates to spend between Rs 2.5 million and Rs 3.3 million. He said he spent half less than the amount allowed. However, he has not submitted the expenditure details to the election office.
Lamichhane said that he will not accept any honor, award or gift during his tenure. He said that he will fulfill the promises on time. “I will diligently engage in political work for the rights and interests of all associations. But I will not participate in the opening of those programs, taking the seats, but I will send a representative in my place", he wrote on Facebook. "I have to go to the seven programs that I have already promised. Those programs will not take more than one hour.”
It has been mentioned that the responsibility of giving interviews to the media and talking about the policies of the party has been given to the spokesperson and information officer of the party. Public hearings have been announced to respond to people in public places in each four months. Lamichhane also mentioned that he will not take the services of any restaurant, hotel, cinema hall, parking etc for free.
