KATHMANDU, Nov 29: The statement recording of Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who was brought to Kathmandu for questioning, is set to begin today at the District Government Attorney Office (DGAO) in Kathmandu.
Lamichhane has been kept at the Kathmandu District Police Range in Bhadrakali. He is implicated in the fund embezzlement of Swarnalaxmi Cooperative in Kalimati. He was brought to Kathmandu from Pokhara on Thursday for recording statements.
Police take Lamichhane to DGAO for recording his affidavit
Lamichhane, who was arrested in the Sunyadarshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara in October, has been in the custody of Kaski police. The court has repeatedly extended his remand to allow further investigation. After completing his statement in Kathmandu, the police have stated that Lamichhane will be taken back to Pokhara.
Lamichhane also faces cases in Rupandehi and Chitwan. The recording of his statements has been completed in Rupandehi, while it is still pending in Chitwan.
