NUWAKOT, July 5: The Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) has invested Rs 93.69 million in various programs in Nuwakot district.
The PAF started implementing its programs in the then 25 VDCs in the district since April 2014, through various community-based organisations working in the income-generation, physical infrastructure and livelihood sectors.
PAF's Nuwakot unit coordinator and the chief of the District Coordination Committee, Santaman Tamang, said that 93 million 699 thousand rupees has been invested in the poverty alleviation programmes in the district.
One hundred and seventy one community groups have been formed which have been running revolving fund with the investment of Rs 61.25 million, it is stated. It is found that the programs have been effective in raising the economic status of 4,766 members affiliated to the community groups. RSS
