TAPLEJUNG, May 22: The Ministry of Finance has agreed to provide Rs 180 million to 13 hospitals across the country including Taplejung District Hospital to purchase and set up oxygen plants. The finance ministry has decided to provide Rs 20 million each to Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital and Karnali Institute of Health Sciences in Jumla.
The health institution of Jumla will receive Rs 30.12 million to build a high dependency unit (HDU) with 25 beds in Jumla while Rs 8 million has been allocated for Charikot Hospital to build an HDU with five beds. Also, the ministry will give Rs 7.5 million to build an HDU with 5 beds in Jiri as well.

Similarly, Bajura Hospital, Bajhang Hospital, Taplejung District Hospital, Acham District Hospital, Solukhumbu District Hospital, Doti District Hospital, Khotang District Hospital, Suryabinayak Hospital in Suryabinayak Rural Municipality and Madan Bhandari Hospital and Trauma Center will receive Rs 7.5 million each.
The Ministry of Health and Population has also agreed to the decision to allocate Rs 8 million each to build an HDU with 5 beds at Madan Bhandari Hospital and Trauma Center, Doti Hospital and Bajhang Hospital.
On May 18, Yogesh Bhattarai had requested the Ministry of Health and Population to provide funds to build an oxygen plant at Taplejung District Hospital.
