KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has passed the statute amendment proposal in view of its ongoing unity general convention. 


The statute amendment proposal presented by the statute amendment committee coordinator Buddhiman Tamang was passed with revision by the general convention.

According to the party spokesman Rajaram Shrestha, a 27-member working committee would be constituted after the revision in the party statute. The working committee would comprise of one chairperson, five vice-chairpersons, four general secretaries, one treasurer, one spokesperson, five joint general-secretaries, seven assistant general-secretaries, one assistant treasurer and two joint spokespersons. 


The number of central members would now be 163. Before this, one chairperson, three vice-chairpersons, three general secretaries, one treasurer, one spokesperson, five joint general-secretaries, seven assistant general-secretaries, one assistant treasurer and two joint spokespersons had been proposed for the 161-member central committee. 

Party joint-spokesperson Mohan Shrestha said the top leadership of the party is making efforts towards forging unanimity on the post of the party chairperson. 


The closed-door session of the general convention has been adjourned till 8 am on Sunday. 

A cultural program was presented this evening in honor of the delegates from within the country and abroad who attended the general convention that began on Friday. RSS
