KATHMANDU, Feb 10: A meeting of office-bearers of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is being held in Kathmandu on Thursday to resolve a recent dispute that surfaced in the party.

Leader Sundar Pandey informed Republica that a meeting will be held in the afternoon at the party's central office in Dhumbarahi to discuss how to end the growing factions and sub-factions within the party and how to ensure success in the upcoming election by protecting the party from possible divisions.

The meeting, which will review the current political developments, will also discuss the necessary action plan for conducting political and social activities of the organization across the country. The party has 31 office bearers including the chairman and seven elected and 24 nominated.

Former Party Chairman Kamal Thapa had recently decided to quit the party on Tuesday expressing dissatisfaction over the newly-elected working committee headed by Rajendra Lingden from the General Convention last December.

Some leaders of the Thapa faction, who did their homework to form a new political party, are continuing to leave the party.
