The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has decided to support Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba's candidacy to the post of the Prime Minister.
The parliamentary party meeting took this decision on Sunday afternoon, said former minister Dil Nath Giri. Earlier, the party could not make any decision regarding the issue as there was split of opinion among the members. Following the issue, the central committee had urged the parliamentary party to take the decision.
The meeting also formed a three-member dialogue committee under the convenorship of party general secretary Jayanta Chanda to hold talks with Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Centre) regarding participation in the new government. Former ministers Giri and Kunti Kumari Shahi are the members of the committee.
