KATHMANDU, May 28: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Prasad Lingden has said that his party had contested in the May 13's local election on its own.
Talking to media persons at Biratnagar Airport in Morang district today, Chairman Lingden clarified that his party had used the electoral alliance strategically only in some local levels. Stating that Nepali Congress(NC) and CPN-UML looked down upon RPP, he explained that his party considered electoral alliances in some local levels for experiment and to show that RPP was also a force to be reckoned with.
Chairman Lingden argued that Nepal’s foreign policy should be based on the principle of non-alignment and that it should always remain balanced. He also said that there is a need for each political party in the country to be serious towards foreign relations. "Otherwise the country could turn into a competition ground for other powerful countries," he warned.
