ROLPA, May 28: With the local level elections just around the corner, political party leaders and prospective candidates of Rolpa are busy in door-to-door visits while the locals and government officials are busy welcoming them.
Elections have become the hot topic at nook and corner as well as tea stalls in this district.
The excitement has gripped the locals. It has been more than two months that the talks of election have kept the locals occupied. Government officials have already reached the rural municipalities and municipalities to make necessary preparations for the elections. They have started painting the offices and decorating the offices of the new representatives. There are altogether nine rural municipalities and a municipality in the district.
Even the people are actively participating in election activities. According to them, they can wait no longer to see their new representatives. The acting chief district officer of Rolpa, Kaman Singh Thapa said, “We have made all the necessary arrangements for the new representatives. There are altogether ten wards and we have sent motorcycles for each of them.” He further informed that the locals are desperately waiting to welcome the new representatives.
