Arghakhanchi, March 8: Robbers broke into the house of Lumbini Province government minister Chetnarayan Acharya on Tuesday night .


Lumbini Province Water, Rural and Urban Development Minister Acharya and his family were not at home when the incident took place, police said. Deputy Superintendent of Police Mukund Rizal said that the robbery was carried out by breaking the locks of the house.


He said that they are conducting a serious investigation into the matter, saying that it will be clear when the minister comes to know how much was stolen. "The details of how much was stolen will be known after the arrival of Acharya," Rizal said, "We have started the investigation."

According to the neighbors, Acharya's house had been stolen before as well. Although not much was stolen that time, they said that this time all the locks were broken and the goods were taken away. A month and a half ago there was a theft at the house of Minister Acharya, neighbor Sobhakhar Panthi said, "The residents around are feeling unsafe."


Minister Acharya is in Bhalubang, the province capital, while his wife has gone to Butwal. After finding that there was no one in the house, the thief broke the locks and made away with the goods.
