Road caves in at Naxal, excessive digging for hotel construction blamed

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: A large sinkhole opened up in the public road at Naxal on Sunday as a stretch of the road caved in due to excessive digging for the construction of Hotel Hilton.

KATHMANDU, Jan 8: A large sinkhole opened up in the public road at Naxal on Sunday as a stretch of the road caved in due to excessive digging for the construction of Hotel Hilton.


Sources claimed that the public road collapsed due to excessive digging for the construction of the five star hotel.

Located at Bhagbati Bahal near the Nepal Police Headquarters, the sinkhole has led to disruption of traffic.


The hotel is being built with joint investment from Hilton Worldwide and Jagdamba Hospitality Group.


Locals said their houses, too, are at risk due to the excessive digging by the builders of the hotel.
