JANAKPUR, August 29: The cadres of Rastriya Janta Party-Nepal (RJP-N) have demonstrated against former Prime Minister and CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal on Tuesday.
Leader Nepal who came in the district to participate in a regional program of youth wing of the party was obstructed to enter the event premises Shantibatika at local Biradi Chowk.
RJPN demands release of cadres
The protestors chanted slogans against the leader and the party, staging demonstration with black flags and brooms. Three RJP-N cadres have been injured during a minor clash with the police while trying to remove the obstruction of the main entrance of the venue.
During the clash, the party cadres pelted stones at the venue to disrupt the program.
The district chairperson of the RJP-N presidium Sanjay Singh said that the party protested against UML for not supporting the constitution amendment.
“We will not let the party organize any election programs in Madhesh as it voted against the constituion amendment bill”, Singh told Republica Online.
The police chased RJP-N cadres and cleared the venue to escort the leaders to a safer place.
