CHITWAN, Oct 13: A rhino was found dead in Khairhani of Chitwan. The male rhinoceros was found dead at Bangur Farm near Icharni River in Khairahani Municipality Ward No 12 at around 4 AM on Thursday.

Information Officer at Chitwan National Park Ganesh Prasad Tiwari said that the reason for death of the rhino could be electrocution. “A four to five year old male rhinoceros was found dead in a residential area in Khairhani,” he said. “There is also a beleaguered web. Everything will be known after the post-mortem.”

Tiwari said that the horn and hooves of the dead rhinoceros are intact. Two rhinos were found dead in the residential area in Chitwan last year. One of those rhinos fell into a road drain and died, while the other was electrocuted in Bharatpur-16, according to officials at the National Park.
