NAWALPARASI, Oct 31: Birgunj youth club defeated Rupandehi-11 by 2-1 in the match held today under the Rhino conservation gold cup football tournament.
In the match held at the Kolhuwa sports ground, Rupandehi scored the first goal in the 13th minute. However, Birgunj bounced back with two goals in the second half (46th and 79th minute) to secure the win.
In tomorrow's match Deshbhakta Youth Club will face the host team. A total of 12 teams are competing for the first prize money of Rs. 525,555 with the runner-up taking home Rs. 250,555. The final will take place on coming November 11.
Second T20 match between India and Bangladesh being held today
The tournament has been organized since the past 13 years at local Kolhuwa ground with the objective of promoting the conservation of Rhinos, according to the organizers.
