KATHMANDU, Feb 2: National Residential Doctors' Association, Resident Doctors Association of Nams and Junior Resident Welfare Society have withdrawn all their protest, on Saturday.

The three organizations called off their protest after senior orthopedic surgeon Dr. Govinda KC ended his 24-day-long fast-unto-death on Friday.

These organizations were staging protest to exert pressure on the government to fulfill demands raised by Dr. KC. As part of their protest, doctors affiliated with these organizations halted their services in various hospitals except emergency for a week.

"The people are aware of the fact that several governments did not abide by the agreements reached with Dr KC in the past. Hence, he was forced to stage 16th hunger strike demanding quality medical education and subsidized health care," the organizations said in the statement.

The organizations have regretted over the government's apathy towards Dr. KC's demands.
