RUKUM, March 4: Republica journalist Bhadra Sharma received Martyr Yadu Memorial Journalism Award on Saturday.

Sharma received a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and certificate amidst a program organized at Chaurjahari. CPN-UML leader Somnath Adhikari Pyasi handed over the award to Sharma. Sharma is associated with Republica daily and reports on political and social issues.

The award has been given every year to a journalist in the memory of Yadu Gautam. Gautam was UML leader in Rukum and was assassinated by the then Maoist insurgents 18 years ago.
