Report on search and study of TU land released

KATHMANDU, Oct 13: A report on the search and study of the land and other immovable property belonging to the Tribhuvan University, 2081 BS, has been released. 



The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology made public the report on Sunday, after a Cabinet meeting held two days back allowed the Ministry to release it via website and go through the implementation of the report's conclusion.

Education Minister Mahabir Pun had informed that he had directed the subordinate after the Council of Ministers decided on it.


The committee member Mahendra Thapa had submitted the report to the government in the presence of then Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai and TU officials. A five-member search and study committee was formed under the coordination of former secretary Sharada Prasad Trital on May 31, 2023. 


The 179-page report has documented the status of university lands at Kirtipur, Naikap, Dhungeadda, and Patan. Use and misuse of land are studied, and the Ministry is recommended to take action.
