KATHMANDU, May 18: The mayoral candidate of ruling alliance in Bharatpur Metropolitan City Renu Dahal is widening the gap with her closest contender in the ongoing vote counting.
As the counting of votes in Ward No. 6 is currently underway, Dahal has maintained a margin of 1,119 votes. During the counting of 25,358 votes in Bharatpur metropolis, Dahal has put herself in the lead with 9,011 votes, while her closest rival Bijay Subedi of CPN-UML has secured 7,892 votes.
Independent candidate Jagannath Poudel has received 4,112 votes. Similarly, Chitrasen Adhikari of the Nepali Congress has been increasing the number of votes in the post of deputy mayor. He has got 10,774 votes, while Himala Gurung of Rastriya Prajatantra Party has got 6,454 votes. The vote counting Bharatpur Ward no. 6 is currently underway. UML is leading in the vote counting in this ward.
